How to create an exercise
Create a reusable task, choose its answer mechanics, add grading rules, and check it before adding it to a set.

Exercises are reusable items. A lesson receives homework through an exercise set, so create and verify individual tasks before grouping them.
Step 1. Open the exercise library
Click Exercises. Search and filters help avoid creating duplicates with slightly different wording.
Step 2. Create a task and choose its type
Click Create exercise. Choose Single choice for one correct option, Multiple choice for several correct options, Input for a short exact response, Essay for rich text and attachments, or Interview for a recorded camera/microphone response. Fill-in-the-gaps and Matching may also appear in AI-generated sets and are completed by learners as inline blanks or pair selectors.
Step 3. Complete the reusable metadata and prompt
Enter a short library Title and the complete learner-facing prompt. Choose content language, subject, optional topic, optional group, and difficulty A–D or O for ungraded. Use Add subject/topic only for a reusable dictionary value, not a one-off explanation. Attach up to the displayed file limit and confirm you may distribute every file.
Step 4. Configure an objective answer
For Single choice add at least two options and mark exactly one correct option. For Multiple choice add options and mark every correct answer. For Input enter the expected answer and an optional hint; keep spelling, units, rounding, and accepted formats unambiguous because the response is evaluated against the configured answer.
Step 5. Configure an essay
For Essay add criteria one by one and assign points to each. Criteria should describe observable qualities such as evidence, reasoning, structure, or calculation—not personality. Learners answer in a rich-text editor and can attach supported images, PDF, office documents, text, or CSV files. Essays require manual or AI-assisted review; they are not graded as an exact string.
Step 6. Configure an interview
For Interview define criteria and points for the recorded response. Learners enable camera and microphone, choose devices, watch the audio meter, start/continue recording, and explicitly finish it. Upload processing must complete before submission. Interviews require review of the recording against the criteria.
Step 7. Save and verify
Click Save, reopen the task from the library, and check prompt rendering, options, marked answers, criteria totals, files, subject, topic, and difficulty. Then add it to an exercise set.
