How to configure the school course certificate

Choose a built-in or custom-PDF certificate, add branding and signatures, preview placeholders, and save safely.

The school certificate design is the default visual template for eligible course certificates. Course editors still decide whether a course issues a certificate and which progress, grade, or exam requirements apply.

Step 1. Open the school certificate settings

Sign in as the school director, open School, and click the certificate customization action. Teachers without director permission can use the resulting design but cannot change the school-wide template.

Step 2. Choose a rendering mode

Use Built-in template for a ready responsive design or Custom PDF template when a designer supplied an approved PDF. Switching modes changes the active output, so preview the newly selected mode before saving.

Step 3. Configure a built-in template

Choose among the displayed designs such as Classic Gold, Royal Blue, Mint Modern, Sunset, Mono, Emerald, Lavender, Graphite, Skyline, or Sand. Optionally enable the school logo and signature, upload clear image files, and choose whether the signature belongs to the course author or school director. Confirm the displayed owner name is correct.

Step 4. Prepare a custom PDF

Download the sample PDF and keep supported markers in the PDF text exactly as shown. Upload the finished PDF, then generate a sample preview. Markers are replaced with values such as learner, course, issue date, author, and school; an unknown or missing marker remains unresolved and must be corrected in the source PDF.

Custom PDF certificate
Upload a PDF with supported placeholders and generate a filled preview.

Step 5. Adjust the custom layout

Open Edit layout. Select a detected text block, drag or resize it, and set text, alignment, font family, size, weight, and color. Save the layout, regenerate the preview, and check long learner and course names instead of optimizing only for the short sample.

Step 6. Preview and save

Inspect the complete certificate for logo quality, signature role, names, dates, spacing, clipping, and unresolved markers. Save the customization only when the preview is correct. Then open a test course's certificate rules and a learner test account to confirm eligibility and download are separate from the visual design.

Verify the final sample as a learner will receive it.
